GoBlaze!

So as you know I have a really bad ear infection, I went to the doctors on Wednesday, when as soon as I walked into the office, I started crying (not my finest moment) which was basically due to the pain I was experience, and the complete lack of sleep, I honestly thought Tuesday night was never going to end! When the doctor looked into my ears the first thing she said was “oh dear” that is not something you want to hear from your doctor! She said that both ears were incredibly infected, and she couldn’t believe how bad they got just from the day before, and that she understood why I started crying!

Thankfully she prescribed me with a bunch of drugs, I have Otomize ear spray, (below) which I have to use two times a day and it should cure the infection.

Amoxicillin Capsules (Below) which are the antibiotics which should cure the infection in my ears and also the chest infection.

Finally Codipar Caplets, (Below) which have 15mg of Codeine Phosphate and 500mg of Paracetamol.

I'm just starting my third day of taking them, and currently I don’t feel any different, I have noticed I'm sleeping better, but I have completely lost all balance, and can’t really hear, it sounds like I have a finger in one ear, and I'm underwater, it’s a very strange thing, I don’t know how else to describe it. The doctor also told me not to go into work for the rest of the week, because of my balance, and because of the tablets, as they say not to drive etc while taking them, and like in my previous note, I'm on the phones constantly, which wouldn’t only inflame the infection further!

Seeing as though I'm not at work, I thought this would be a good time to tell you all about the ice hockey! Oh what a mission indeed! I don’t even know where to start!

I had a very strange experience while getting petrol before heading my way into Birmingham to meet my friend Katie, after I filled up I parked over by the tyre pressure section, just so I could plug in my sat nav, and then get on my way, as I was sorting it out, a chap knocked on my window and started talking to me, and asked if I needed help, I said no, because I was just sorting out Jane (the sat nav) and I know how to do that, turns out he meant my tyres, supposedly, they were really deflated, and he wanted to help me pump them up, which I thought was lovely, and very kind of him, and then he started telling me about his problems, and how the meds have only just kicked in, and for the first time in 18 months he feels as though he can do anything (I don’t know about you, but my mind starts running away with me at this point) he goes on to say that his wife is divorcing him, yet they are still living together, and that he has nowhere to go and no one will miss him (at this point I was thinking, good god, he is playing with my car, he is going to follow me down the road, wait for my tyres to explode and then capture me) thankfully that didn’t happen, I think he was a genuinely a lovely man, just a bit depressed, but talking about your meds really isn’t going to put a stranger at ease!

This is where the fun begins! My sat nav Jane is a complete bitch! (<<< that is Jane) I was trying to get to Birmingham, west heath, and I was following her every direction, and then she took me onto the M6 which I did, and she wanted me to get off at the next exit to join the M5, so I did this, then, when I was on the M5, she wanted me to take the first exit and join the M6! I don’t know about you, but that is just taking me around in circles, so what should have been a 30 minute drive to West Heath took bloody hours! I ended up ringing Katie and thankfully her step dad was a travelling genius! He told me to get on the M5, keep on it until the exit after the services and to join the M42 and then take the first exit after joining the M42 and then take a left and they would meet me there by the flower store! And they were the greatest instructions! I got there without any problems or hassles or anything, all the time I was following his directions, and Jane was still trying to get me to go another way!

Finally got to Katie’s and we headed on our way to Coventry to see the Coventry Blaze ice hockey team play against Edinburgh Capitals! We got there a little early so decided to grab some food at Old Orleans, I loved the place, and they offer you popcorn as you walk in! You can always win me over with free popcorn! I ordered Gumbo, I had never tried it before, and I have just finished reading, Alex Cross Trial, in which Gumbo is mentioned a lot, and I had never seen it on any menus before, so I had to have it! It was wonderful! I really enjoyed it; it came with a bit of rice, and a slice of corn bread! Delicious!

Now the game! Oh it was brilliant! I had never been to a live ice hockey game before, and it was so much fun! I was surprised at how many people were there, I didn’t realise it was so popular over here! After only a short wait the Blaze boys appeared on the ice and also, their opponents, the Edinburgh Capitals! After scoring twice in the first two minutes I'm sure everyone thought Blaze would just walk all over the Capitals, boy were we wrong!

At the end of the third, the score was an even 5-5. I don’t think the game could have gotten more intense! Not knowing if it would stay a draw or if it would go into over time we were waiting to hear what happens! 5 minutes of overtime was announced! First team to score wins! The pressure was on our Blaze boys! 1:50 minutes into overtime, Luke Fulghum scores the crucial goal! I cheered and whooped in ways I’ve never done before! It was such a great game and a great experience! One I have to do again!

Now I fully expected to have the same problems with Jane on the way home! Yet surprisingly I didn’t! She went straight to the M42, then A446, followed by the A38 then I was home! It was the easiest journey I have ever had! It was wonderful! Its just a shame she couldn’t of done that in the first place!

Sorry the posting is so long! I should really learn how to make them shorter! I think I rabbit on a bit too much about nothing!

Bye for Now! x

Stupid Ears!

So at the end of my last update I said I needed to get better for the ice hockey on Sunday as I had been feeling a little ill... well... I sort of was, I had my voice almost back to normal, but I still had a bit of a gross cough, but I thought I was getting better (I will get onto the ice hockey shortly) well I went back to work on Monday (yesterday) and I had my back to work interview, again I was feeling fine, but still had a cough. Today I was on admin duty at work, its where we basically log the contract supports and then scan all the old files. During the scanning this afternoon my ear felt funny, and then all of a sudden I had a sharp stabbing pain in my ear, and it rapidly progressed to full out pain! As soon as work was over I was out the door and on the phone to the doctors trying to make an appointment, thankfully I’ve got in at 9am tomorrow morning, since getting home it’s gotten worse! My whole left cheek feels numb and it is so painful, when I sneeze, or cough (which happens a lot seeing as I still have my cough) a shot of pain starts in my ear and goes throughout my body, I’ve had to break one of my resolutions because of it, because the pain is so intense that it makes cry as I have no other way to let out the pain!

It’s very similar to the ear ache I suffered almost 2 years ago, again it started with just a normal sore throat and cough, and developed to an ear infection, which then spread to my other ear, which then gave me an eye infection, it went on for almost a month, and every time I went to the doctors they would prescribe me something, but nothing would ease the pain, or get rid of the infection, finally I was prescribed some ear drops and after a few days the infection cleared, hopefully I won’t have the same problem this time, and that they will just prescribe me the same medication as before, it worked then, surely it would work now? All will be discovered tomorrow!

Hopefully they will also provide me with a solution for work, as I'm on the phone almost constantly, with the way my headset is the ear piece is on the ear where I have the infection, however, if I have the head set the other way, then the pressure point thing, which keeps the headset on my head will be touching the infected area both resulting in pain, and not very good when you can’t hear a damn thing! I’ve already had two days off, and with the week I had to have off in December because of the swine flu, I can’t really afford to have any more time off! Hopefully the doctor will provide me with a handy way of working!

Sorry Ice hockey update will come shortly, I seriously just want to get to bed, and try and sleep, although I couldn’t sleep the last time I had this, but dammit I'm going to try!

Have you ever had an ear infection? Share your experiences with me!

Bye for now! X

P.S after the shit health I have recently been having and generally having a bad time, I came home from work and after crying to my dad, I opened my mail, oh what a lovely surprise, I had a delayed Valentine’s Day card, and letter off my friend in America, and inside were the most beautiful earrings I’ve ever seen... they can be seen here >>> http://twitpic.com/14ybh4 let me know what you think of them! The whole package really cheered me up and made my day! so THANK YOU

Cars! They are great.... until something goes wrong!

The other day I decided it was time I took my car for a service, it had been over a year since the last one, and so figured it was better to be safe, than sorry! Oh how I wish I hadn’t.

I took it to a local big named garage and they carried out the service, and then I had the phone call, the dreaded phone call where they tell you if your car needs any work doing to it etc, Well I think I must of been on the phone for about 15 minutes having every little problem with my car being detailed. After he had finished going through his list, and counted up the totalling costs of the work, it came up to almost £1,000! £1k! I only paid £300 for it off my sister in law! Turns out I need new rear brakes, new shocks, new coily springy things (still no idea what they were for, I presume something to do with the shock) new front wiper blades, break fluid replacing, steering fluid container has a leak, fan belt needs changing, cam belt needs changing, some strange wire wool thing that goes into the steering rack, and no doubt I have forgetting something.

I got the Shocks and springs replaced at the garage I had the service carried out at, and including the service itself that was £315! A few days later I go into the garage I normally go to ( I didn’t go to them as the website said they didn’t do services, turns out they do, just for loyal customers, like me) so they’ve basically now offered me a cheaper price to fix some of the items, I was told £120 to get the wire wool thing, a brake fluid test and change if needed, rear brakes, wheel alignment and my steering fluid checked over, which is a lot cheaper than the previous company I haven’t yet had this done, I was meant to get it done tomorrow, but with me feeling like poop, I couldn’t be bothered, and figured I can always do it next week, as long as I ring up the day before so they can order the parts. What I found Shocking was that they don’t repair cam belts! So then I had to try and find somewhere that did for a reasonable amount, seeing as the original garage wanted to charge me £400 for it!

Thankfully, a friend’s dad has a friend that fixes cars, and he does all the work that she needs doing to it, so I gave him a call, turns out he can do the cam belt, and the fan belt for £160 a hell of a lot cheaper, and the bonus side to it, is that he actually comes to you to fix the car! I have him booked in on March 5th to do that, as I had to wait till I already had a day off work for him to visit, (already had it booked off as I’m getting a tattoo on the 4th)

A lot of people have told me to buy a new car etc, but where can you get a decent car for the amount of money I’m spending to fix it? I haven’t got the spare cash to buy one out right, and I don’t really want another bill coming out each month if I get a car on finance, and if I was to buy a new car, I would want a car that is newer than the one I have!

Right that’s it for now; I’ve got to get to bed! I’ve had to ring in sick the last two days to work because it feels like I’m swallowing razor blades, and my whole torso aches from coughing! Who knew it took so many muscles! And I need to be fit for Sunday when I’m going to see Ice Hockey LIVE in Coventry, I am ever so excited and I NEED TO BE WELL BY THEN!!! I’ll let you know how the Hockey goes! I’m hoping for a fight seeing as our seats are right on the front row!

Bye for now! x

January Movies!

Morning All,

So instead of posting a whole years worth of movies at the end of 2010, this year I'm posting my movie list each month! My goal is to average out 1 a day! It was orginally, to watch more films than my brother, but considering he has already watched about 80 films during January, I dont think I will catch up, but now he is starting back at work I may have chance!

January was a mix bag of movies, some were great, EG Sherlock Holmes, Heart and Souls, Whip It! Others I think I just wasted my time watching, EG Brief Interviews With Honest Men, and Fame, I really just dont understand why a remake was needed, the film was just very average. My favourite film was probably Behind The Mask! It's a fantastic Horror / Slasher, a very clever plot, and entertaining, a must watch if you haven't seen it already!
