April's Movies

Time for Aprils movies, again, I'm running behind on the aim for a movie a day, but I'm trying, I find it difficult to watch a movie during the week for some reason or another, so I have been trying to get the numbers up during the weekend, but that isn’t always the case, I will make it my mission to have an average on one movie a day, my new years eve could be one full of movies!
So, as usual I will start with the disappointing films of April, The first has to be Nine Dead, It starred Mellissa Joan Hart, and it was a good story line, but just poorly executed! After watching previous Nicolas Spark adaptations I have been impressed and moved (The Notebook, Walk To Remember, preferred the books though) so I expected similar things from Dear John, however this wasn’t the case, I didn’t feel a connection between the lead characters, which is a shame, because I think they are both great, but the film left me feeling empty, and I honestly didn’t care what happened with them.
Kick Ass, was truly just KICK ASS! It was a brilliant film, and truly entertaining and just amazing! Best film of the month by far!
A close second was Jersey Girl, I thought it was an underrated Kevin Smith film, and one I had previously avoided due to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez staring in it together, because be honest, we all remember the train wreck that was Gigli! But I loved Jersey Girl, the few scenes they had together were moving and they had great chemistry, and everything about the film was heart warming, and a great change for Kevin Smith!
And need I say any more than Iron Man! Bloody awesome, I can’t wait to see the second one!

February's Movies

In keeping with one of my resolutions, I have included last months list of movies, unfortunately I failed to make my average of one a day, so I have some catching up to do!

The Collector I think was the greatest movie that I saw during February! I dont often get squeamish, but The Collector was one film that at times I had trouble watching! It was brilliant!

On the other end of the movie genre scale was The Holiday, starring Jack Black, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Kate Winslet, it was a fairly simple romantic comedy which was released a few years ago, and I will admit I didn't expect much from the film, mainly due to the fact I cant stand Jude Law, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was a lovely, heart warming film which I really enjoyed watching!

The worst film of the month goes to Van Wilder Party Liason, oh my lord it was painful, it wasnt funny, it was just shockingly bad, I can't think of anything positive to say about it! Please learn from my mistake. Do not waste your time!

Please see below for the other films....

January Movies!

Morning All,

So instead of posting a whole years worth of movies at the end of 2010, this year I'm posting my movie list each month! My goal is to average out 1 a day! It was orginally, to watch more films than my brother, but considering he has already watched about 80 films during January, I dont think I will catch up, but now he is starting back at work I may have chance!

January was a mix bag of movies, some were great, EG Sherlock Holmes, Heart and Souls, Whip It! Others I think I just wasted my time watching, EG Brief Interviews With Honest Men, and Fame, I really just dont understand why a remake was needed, the film was just very average. My favourite film was probably Behind The Mask! It's a fantastic Horror / Slasher, a very clever plot, and entertaining, a must watch if you haven't seen it already!
